Archives for September, 2009

Ok…I knew this moment was coming, and I avoided it like I used to avoid Mark Smith beatings in elementary school, but the time arrived.

Every VW person knows the hardest part of going on a road trip and not taking your car is of course…telling your car.

Mistie did not take it well.

The excitement of going to Vegas aside, the harsh reality of the fact that I will be in a vehicle with Don for 14 hours has set in.

I know I know, we work together and blah blah blah, but this is a road trip! Not only do I have to put up with rock cover polka music and books on tape…I actually have to talk to this guy!

Naturally this is the kind of thing that worries me so I decided to set up a test environment and practice conversations with “Don”. In the picture below you can see how how I feign genuine interest in what “Don” (on the right) is saying. I feel that I can pull this off, and after only 5 hours of practice!

This is going to be a great trip!

Vegas planning

The supposed “fun” that will be had day after tomorrow seems as distant and plausible as a unicorn in left field.

The intensity (not staged) captured in this photo clearly shows the deep focus and concentration in which we perform our daily duties.

Don frantically calling, trying to find a rubber chicken warehouse and Lemorris…deep in thought, wondering…”If Elvis is really gone, are these people truly impersonators?” .

-Team Chirco

Well it’s Don’s first trip for the Vegas Bug-o-rama and Lemorris’ first trip to Vegas period!

With both phones wired into this blog and the Facebook fan page. There will be plenty to see and read, and as if that wasn’t enough…

Baja in Progress

This baja is almost complete. It has been a nearly ground up project.

Look for a video in the very near future. It’s extremely cool!

Saturday Matinee 9/26/09

Really fun…that about sums it up. Welcome to Brittany and Boyfriend Tommy. Welcome to Joe and Girlfriend Sabrina, and big thanks to everyone that came out for the last installment of the Saturday Matinee at Sonic for 2009. In November we will pick up the Sat mat’s at Chirco again. See ya there!

New Resident vists Chirco.com

Jim is a new resident to Tucson, AZ and he drove his very cool lowered bus all the way from Pennsylvania. The first place he went when he got a break in his busy schedule? Chirco Performance and Restoration. For that we thank you Jim and we look forward to you being part of the Tucson VW community. Welcome friend.

Just a quick promo of the Club Connection

Some VW art in the works.

I’m working on a couple few pieces at the same time these days. Much like the painters of old, while one piece was drying between stages they would work on another. I employ a similar practice but mine resembles a headless chicken.

In anay case I thought I’d put up some of the rough sketches a preliminary pieces for the Dyno on the Beach design that Chirco will be a partial sponsor of.

This is the rough…and I do mean rough comp. Just thoughts really…some element definition but just a rough plan. What follow is the work up on some of the elements.

I’ll have more on this soon. It’s pretty hot and heavy right now so I’ll get into details as we go along.

Thanks for looking.
