Does a slave cylinder matter on what type of transmission you have or are they all the same?

I dont think so, the throw of the clutch shaft is the same
when i order my slave cyl only one choice (well ok few colors) so should not matter

BUT
Buggy man has proved me wrong many times before so please wait for him to confirm headbang Beer

I may be completely wrong, but I don't believe bugs ever came with hydraulic clutches as standard, therefore there is no relationship between the slave and the trans.

(And just to make you laugh, I've just spent 15 mins writing a whole bunch of drivel about "brake" slaves, trans and years of manufacture, until I saw the pics and realised you were asking about clutch slaves..... doh  Banghead)

Vice Pres. Onkaparinga Ramblers Car Club and general all-round good guy.  I'm neither, but give me a dose of Skynyrd and a half pint of Jack, and I'd be waving Ol' Dixie with the best of them.

Spot on headbang Kimbo Smiley ,unless you're thinking of adapting a Vanagon "pusher" slave to a Type1 trans B B Smiley ,that proves to be problematic since the crossshafts are a different diameter:

Otherwise it's just a matter of making sure you have the correct type of mounting bracket for the type of Type1 slave you buy as madrider Smiley discovered http://www.chircoestore.com/catalog/smf/index.php?topic=5427.msg39401  Wink .

Does a slave cylinder matter on what type of transmission you have or are they all the same?

Not sure on that Q. But Buggyman is on a roll this thread  headbang  The harder the Q's the better he likes it  Wink  I don't think there is a VW Q that he cannot answer (ok Buggyman don't let your head get too big)  Grin

LOL_Sign Head's the same size as always Dragen Smiley
