Somewhere along the process of getting my project rail home, I "lost" one of my Fox shocks.

Shocks Specs:
Travel: 10.0"
Extended Length: 26.10"
Collapsed Length: 16.10"
Shaft Size: 5/8"
Shock Eyelet Mounting: 1/2"

The only problem (besides losing the shock of course  Crybaby) is that the shocks I have are the ones with the blue ends, and now everyone carries the black-ends shocks.  If someone could help me out, that would be awesome!

Huh looks pretty blue to me Tongue Cheesy Dontknow .
Both the black & blue are the same shock, just a different color http://www.off-roadproducts.com/FOX08NonCoilover.htm ,so you could just pick up a black one, mask & colormatch paint it Wink .

I've got the blue coil-over variants on mine - nice shocks - not going to ask how you lost a shock, but it sucks none-the-less.

I actually don't know how it got lost... my brother picked up the sandrail with a bunch of boxes with parts from an uncle, then stored everything in his house.  He decided to sell everything to me (after some months) and brought everything to my house.  Sometime between him picking up the stuff from my uncle's and me bringing the stuff home, a shock disappeared Sad

I thought about just getting a black one and painting it, but I think they are anodized, so I don't know if the color can be duplicated  Huh

Yes,they are Smiley ,and that anodization would remain as a protective layer & a pretty good base for a colormatch paint because of it's rough texture Wink .
The local Muchachos Pep Huh Cheesy (Pep Boys Wink ) has a whole aisle of automotive colormatch paints in small spray cans, that looks pretty dang close to Silverblue Metallic Smiley .
Here's info Wink :

Thanks Buggyman for the info  headbang  What would be the best surface prep for a painted anodized surface... sanding, primer, nothing Huh

Now that you've brought this up, I wonder if I want to maybe paint all of them, some other color Huh  Decisions decisions

"Decisions decisions"
Opened up a can-o-worms,did I? Cheesy Smiley .
I'd do a light spritz of brake cleaner(not carb cleaner Wink ) & a quick wipe of a clean cloth to remove any oils embedded on the surface of the anodized portions, mask off & paint just the anodized portions, not the whole shock body because that would tend to retain too much generated heat.

Beer The reason for the brake cleaner over carb cleaner is that the brake cleaner has much less chance of damaging the seal between the shock body & piston shaft & very much no chance of damaging it especially if used sparingly in this type of situaton Wink .
