Greetings one and all!
I've been in the VW Bug scene for many years and was introduced to clubbing angle by Matt (Green Ghia Vert Matt) when he was president of the Tucson VW Club that met at the BBQ Ranch  on Speedway. I was on the board of directors and put together the club newsletters, cruises etc.  I bought our 1973 Super from Pima Volkswaken on April 10, 1973 for $3200.  I was in the USAF band from 1966-1970 and worked in the radio and newspaper industry before going to work for The Arizona State Lottery where I have been for 24 years now.  I enjoy being a member of The Dry Heat Panzers VW club here in Tucson even though we have to put up with Lemmoris!  Grin

They paid me $100 back in 1973.  I just discovered the movie was released on DVD. I never knew it ever saw the light of day.  I had forgotten all about it. Now I find out it played at drive-Ins around the country and just went to DVD. We shot this final scene up in Kearny AZ and it took all day.  I was pleasantly surprised when I played the DVD and saw that I was the lead cop in the big climax of the film. I think they liked my John Wayne stance and expression after blowing the bad guys away with the shotgun. My big Demille close-up is around 3:54.  Getting the skull of the girl to blow off just right was a pain...a lot of waiting around while they worked on the special effect.  I remember they went into town to Safeway to get some sort of cow brains to put under the skull piece.  The whole movie was bloody and rated R. The dark haired actor Bill Osco is part of the Osco Drug family I think.  The other guy is Jason Williams.  They went on to do other moves.  This one cost $50,000. The move is becoming a cult classic and on a scale of one to ten is a minus 50!  I have some 8X10's if anyone wants an autograph...LOL.

Loren, I can't tell you enough how happy that makes me.  You know it's my dream to make a really really bad movie and man...talk about motivation.  Smiley  I absolutely love it.

That's "The Blues" the year we bought 'em in 1973. And the other photo is a recent one.  I haven't changed one bit!  Roll Eyes

We were up in Phoenix at My sisters house and I believe that was a Ford Falcon in the drive.  You can just barely make out my other sisters Ford Taledega which was used as an Indy pace car and very rare.  My brother in law used to work for indy driver Roger McCloskey.
