For sale - 1967 VW Type 1 "Bug" with the 1600cc motor (stock). In 2000 this car was rebuilt by F. & K. Auto Services in North Hollywood, CA.

While the car was in pieces being rebuilt at F&K, I had them paint the whole car Porsche silver. The interior of the trunk, the engine compartment and the passenger cabin interior were painted at the same time the car's exterior was painted. The upholstery and headliner are in new condition

The car has front disk brakes, pop-out rear windows and a high quality (expensive) hidden single CD - AM / FM combo radio. This Bug is very reliable and is fun daily transportation. It would also be the basis for an easy restoration project. It needs some body work, new exterior paint and the replacement of the chrome headlight rims (which it turns out were aftermarket junk). No body or pan rust. I have been told the body is all German metal, no after market replacement junk.

For many reasons the 1967 Type 1 is considered a strong "collectable". I have too many automobiles and it's not economical for me to store them or try to drive them all. I want to see this car go to a good caring home and have a bright future. See current photos below.

Asking price, only $2,975.00

To VW enthusiasts. The car advertised here, my 1967 Type 1 (Bug) VW was stolen Angry from a strip mall parking lot next to the Van Nuys Golf Course on Victory Blvd. - between Hayvenhurst and Woodley Avenue. The theft occured at 6:20 PM on Sunday 11/19/06. I have a surveillance tape of the theft. The thieves were driving a silver Honda. The thieves appear to be two late teen early twenties caucasian males. They parked their Honda next to my VW and the surveillance camera has a record of their Honda's license plate number. It took the thieves approximately 12 minutes to gain entry to my car and the engine compartment and to trick the electrical system so they could push-start the car. One of the men drove west on Victory after push starting the car.

The plates on the stolen car have probably been changed, but they were White California plates 5BTF628 The Vin Number on my car is 117603161. The car is painted Porsche silver which has oxidized to a dull grey color, it has chrome wheels and VW "nipple" caps, a bent running board and tweaked bumper. You can see photos of the stolen car at the bottom of my May 17, post. I will be delivering the enhanced copies of the surveillance tape to the LAPD tomorrow. If you see my car please post a reply. If the car is returned from where it was stolen no questions will be asked.
