I got to admit, I had asked for hershey wrapper chocolate brown color, but he didnt have compatible paint to flatten it; since free, I could not complain.

it is easy... just use a long blade to cut outer side off... check your local parts/paint supply store.  I did it!!!   Grin

Dont worry about breaking the rear,  the front (if a flat one) is the one you need to worry about.  If the seals are hard, just cut them and be done with them, if they are new (like all of mine were), then try to save them, but not at the expense of the glass!!  The rear, and rear quarters came out fine, but I cut the windshield rubber (rubber is cheaper to replace than glass), and windshieds (flat) will break easier then other windows due to the area.

All seals rock hard and unloved, heck, whole car was abused by PO it seems...  Front glass has NO DOT or similar marking , and the glass is full of air bubbles, it is just weird. If it break, OH WELL!  It has to be replaced since not to code anyhow.  Will probably take to a glass man to fix that one I suppose unless someone local sells just the windshield....

I got a seal kit that was suppose to fit front, rear and quarter, but since my quarters are pop outs, they don't fit and I have to SPEND MORE MONEY

lol

Seriously though, anyone needing some cal look rear quarter window seals, lemme know,  I can't use em

Yeah, they do scrape a bit on those driveways, gotta take em wide and slow.  Not loud enough for my kid, wants to make a custom exhaust for it (which I am guessing will be my christmas present.  All I can say about it at this point ( not being loud) Thank Gawd!)  With the interior being torn up right now and NO noise insulation, I was pert near deaf by time I got home with her tonight (24 mile one-way trip)  I never heard the exhaust, just pure engine  roar (and some things that go bump in the night).

Thanks for your liking my lights; I got to drive her home tonight, back up to the shop tomorrow for breaking oil change, valve adjust and carb checkup.  Then finishing up lighting as far as I can till more Oznium lights arrive.  Plus I got to figure out why she shimmeys at 65 MPH; sucks cos I dont even have to give her but a bit o' pedal and she is doing 65 and  saying "what the heck?" when I have to coast to keep in under 65....

Worst part of buying a non-op car is once you get one thing fixed, you find out 99.99999% of what to PO said was good with the car was BS....

Will post pics tomorrow of her once she is wiped down.  Wink

Vin, I've got a single QP on now, the duals are the same height. I'm not scraping it down two clicks in the rear...

When I say driveways, you got to actually experience a driveway/access in Banning , CA.  Town is on the side on a mountain, near the riverbed.. MAJOR floodplain streets built back in the 1900's I think....  LOL  they go from street level to +90 degrees in 5 feet, literally

other than scenarios of such, they are cool and clear of most roadway haphazards (only dialed down one in the rear the PO said...)

really!?!  i guess i will have to see what my rear will look like when i get shocks and wheels and tires on.  with the front 195/50s and stocks on the back my exhaust was about 1 1/2"-2" from the ground.  not sure what exhaust though, dual tip and sticks out the side

Body work looks good.  Is it going to be a dark blue?  Just wondering with black primer.  Hope to see the "final" (there is no such thing as final  Smiley ) pics soon.

I wish I had a pic before we started on her. She had those wide, fiberglass rear fenders with the teardrop brake lights and was primer rust and grey.

Well, the PO  said he turned the front down two notches but I think I will lower it more in time to come.  Right now I am about ready to rat rod it just for the easy engine access benefit.  I sure miss my ol' 61 ragtop baja right about now.
