Here's a current pic of my Manx Project. I have just picked up the seats and the windscreen. I'm just mocking up the windscreen to see what it looks like.

This is what I started with 12 months ago.... A 71 super bug pan. I have shortened the pan 14 1/2 inches and converted the front to king and link. The motor is a 1641 TP with a IRS tranny. Brakes are standard drums on the front and 67 type 3 drums on the rear.

New guy here to the Bug world.....I bought this 69' about a month ago on a impulse as I have always wanted a bug since I was a kid.

My wife drove it one day to work and came home and told me she wanted one as well.....so last week I picked one up for her as well. I found a 71' for her.....now we are obsessed with these cars. She just told me last night we should get a (Bay Window) Bus.

Doug from victorville ca.  I need advice on a future baja bug.  We (2 couples, usually) go down to Baja in our pickups but our pickups are very apt to get stuck when we get out on the beaches to surf fish.  I'd like your input on just how basic can we make a beetle for that purpose. Can I just go completely stock?  Should I use a body kit and exhaust?  Do I need a liftkit or get more travel?
Thanks for your help.

Hi everyone!

I am new to this site, had a problem with the last company I ordered parts from, and I am glad I did!  I love this site!!  I am looking foward to receiving my first order around Wed.  Here are our 2 vw's, the baja is for our daughter, it is so close to being done, its a 1963 through 1967 Grin  Now she just needs to learn to drive a stick.  The white one is mine, its a 64. We bought it for the motor to put in the baja, and to eventually fix up later.  The interior is original, and in beautiful condition.  The passenger front end is damaged, so I am keeping my eye out for a replacment, hopefully used.  And a fender of course.  We had 2 bajas before this, both built by us.  My job now is to clean up the rebuilt motor we just bought for the 64 so I can paint it all up before dropping it in the 64.

We are about 2 hours north of Sacramento, we won't make the Bugorama this month, but we are planning on September.  Hopefully both cars will be ready by then.  Not sure if I want to drive to Sac in the middle of summer in a bug though!

Thanks to BigDirtyDog and Don for help with the pictures!

I'm new to this forum so I would like to let everyone know what I am working with.  I have a 68 beetle, it is ripped apart on the inside and the engine needs a carb.  I am trying to make some extra cash to get a carb or I am trying to find someone that has one they no longer need.  I will post pics when I get the pics scanned.

Hello everyone, My name is Ron and my wife's name is Lori.  We have just become members of Chirco's awesome web site.  Here are a few pic's of our 71 Baja Bug.  Before I say anything else I'd like to set the record straight, that we are in no way, shape, or form of any kind of a thug. OK! This is the only name I could think of at the time when I needed a name.    My wife and I are fortunate enough to be full time RV'ers and the "Bug" is our "Toad" (towed) in RV talk, "Go Figure"!! LOL
