  2. I would like to meet Chirco's staff.

It's Chirco's people that make the difference.

Joe Chirco aka "Smokin' Joe": (Founder and Co-Owner of Chirco Performance and Restoration)
Joe got his start selling Baja parts at local swap meets in the 70's and has since grown Chirco Performance and Restoration into a bustling global aftermarket VW, dune buggy parts and accessories business. Joe proudly contributes his business savvy and expertise to his father. You'll find Joe sitting in his office working intently with a Starbucks in hand. He also enjoys working at the front counter helping customers, on the phone answering questions for our mail order customers, in the service center working on cars, or out at the dunes having fun. Most recently, he added a Yamaha 200 to his off-road collection and has been enjoying going out riding with his son and the rest of the gang.

Sandy Chirco aka "Papa Santo": (Co-owner of Chirco Performance and Restoration and founder of Tucson Packard).

This guy is a gazillionaire, but acts like he doesn't have two cents to his name. It is rumored that he has a million dollars cash buried in his backyard somewhere. If you are willing to try to find it, he has been wanting to get a pool dug for years! He's known throughout the United States and around the globe for servicing Packard owners parts needs. Not only is he a blast to have around, he's always good for a laugh, and definitely a pleasure to work with. You can find Sandy roaming the back aisles of Chirco working with his antique parts.

See Sandy's web site at Packard Parts Online!!

Tara Chirco (The best niece ever)

She is the best thing to ever happen to this company...Lord knows what they would do without her. We aren't joking about that one either. (You guessed it, I'm the one writing this).

    Frank: (Senior Counter Associate)

Frank has been around for quite awhile, and we're darn glad we have him. . If you have a question about dune buggy products and accessories, he's your man! He's also well skilled in the needs of all air-cooled models. His enthusiasm at Chirco is addicting. He goes above and beyond the call of duty to meet all of our customer's needs. When Frank is not at Chirco, he's out working on his large piece of property south of Tucson and mowing his weeds down with his very cool buggy!!

    Ruben: (Counter Associate)

Ruben has been a huge asset to our company. He is one of our counter salesmen that has an incredible quality of customer service. He has many many years in the VW and Dune Buggy business, and all aftermarket products as well. He has a true passion for what he does and his attitude greatly portrays that. We are excited that he is a part of the Chirco team.

    Bob: (Air-Cooled/Buggy Technician)

Bob is one of our air-cooled/Buggy technicians who takes pride in his workmanship. Mr.Versatile, Bob can work on almost anything. Bob builds motors, works on buggies and restoration projects. He brings over 25 years of experience and is a true asset to our company. Watch out while in the shop, you might think he is a plumber (when bent over), but truly, he is a hard working mechanic.

    John: (Air-Cooled/Buggy Technician)

John is one of our air-cooled/Buggy technicians who was one of our customers and wanted to get out of the hustle and bustle of dealership life. Attention to detail is what makes John such a great guy to work with. John always has a big smile on his face and is always willing to lend a helping hand. He brings over 20 years of automotive experience and is a true asset to our company.

    Will: (eBay Divison)

Will has been an avid VW freak since his early teens. He has two beautiful little girls that enjoy keeping him busy. He also is a member of the TW200 club. (Teenie Weenie 200 Yamaha club for those of you that did not know). He is a hard worker and a dedicated father. Will is also a founding member of the German Metal club. He manages the eBay division of the Chirco Organization and is in charge of getting all orders out in a timely manner. Will has been a great asset to our team and we are happy to have him.

    Hoyt: (Shipping Department)

Hoyt is the newest member of the Chirco Team.  He is a dedicated hard worker, and is becoming a huge fan of VW items. He is a proud owner of a off-road baja bug and is also a member of the TW200 club. (Again, for those who do not know Teenie Weenie 200 Yamaha club). We are excited for him to be on board with this crazy Chirco family.

  4. What is the story behind Chirco?

For updates about us, please see our Blog

Joe Chirco has been a Volkswagen fan since his early teens. While still in high school, Joe started selling VW parts at weekend swap meets in Tucson, Arizona as early as 1979.

In his spare time he would drive to Los Angeles and meet with parts vendors, purchase parts, and return home to pass on the great deals to local VW addicts.

In 1984 his business had grown to the point where a work location and warehousing was needed. Thus, the birth of Chirco Automotive, Inc., which includes a 6 bay Service Department at 9101 East 22nd Street in Tucson.

Since then, Chirco Automotive has relied heavily on walk-in trade. Business boomed when Chirco began advertising in 1990 through several national VW and Offroad related magazines. The birth of the Chirco mail order department was celebrated as a result of well designed display ads and great deals, making the name Chirco nationally known.

In early 1998 Chirco launched its first website, www.chirco.com. While only listing a minimum of Chirco's inventory, the website has attracted parts buyers and VW owners from around the globe..... even the motherland, Germany. Chirco is now known world wide as a shipper of quality Performance, Restoration and Custom parts for VWs, Buggies and Sandrails. With the aid of "in house" UPS shipping Chirco has become a stream-lined and customer oriented organization with the most efficient shipping system available for speedy deliveries. A far cry from the good ole days at the swap meet.

Over the years Joe has not only offered the best that VW parts vendors have to offer, but he's also developed a large private label of manufactured products for you to choose from.

In 1998 Joe began the massive and time consuming project of constructing a completely comprehensive VW parts catalog for Chirco. Chirco Performance and Restoration (CPR) was born. The hard bound catalog hit the streets in the summer of 1999.1999 proved to be a banner year for Chirco with the development of this new website. It has been a labor of love. Joe wanted to get back in touch with the community and has launched a site that not only provides customer and technical support, a complete inventory listing of parts for sale.

In 2001, just when life was going well. Joe purchased the assets of his Tucson competition, Off-Road Buggy Supply. This purchase came with a ton of quality used parts. So you guessed it, Chirco now has Used VW Parts. What can be next for Joe?

Joe's commitment to you is to provide the best selection of top quality products at the most competitive prices with the best possible customer service. Our staff is committed to serving you Monday through Saturday to help answer that hard-to-answer question or to place an order for the parts you need.

2002 - 2005 was spent improving our online store and streamling our mail proccess.
We kicked of a new Chirco.com and focused on the inventory control through reports
that our computer systems provide to maintante high levels of parts that move quicker.
We also worked with our vendors to speed up special order parts.
Bye the end of 2005 mail order revenues have exceeded counter sales.

2006 We had really started to notice the strong demand for used parts for restoration projects.
So during the summer we found and purchased three VW junkyard across the country.
This caused us a real problem with storage. We tried to combine them with our excisting used parts inventory and we ended with piles.

2007 - Well you can guess that we decided we needed get our used parts inventory orginized.
We broke ground on a garage for the storage and restoration of used parts.
Our goal is to get these parts also online on the 3rd generation of Chirco.com launched August 1st of this year.

2008 - Has been a whirl wind year so far.
Here are some of the projects we have completed.
    Chirco Amazon Store
