We needed to get the front hi/low beams and the off-road driving lights attached to the front bumper.

Steve came up to me and said, when are you going to mount the head lights, and I shared with him that I was puzzled on how to make a clean and simple head light mount that will attach to the bumper. Steve smiled and said he was the man for the job.

We chose the black KC hi/low beams for our head lights. Steve made a very functional light holder out of some tubing. The long end will attach to the bumper and the small end will hold the light.

From this photo it is hard to tell the smiley face of the lens cover from Steve. (Steve is on the right I think) Steve held the lights in place while I tacked in the mount. Looks good to me and it seems to be out of the way of the tire.

Here is two more shots .

Next we need to put on the light tabs for the Delta tech driving lights. We chose the 100 watt Delta lights because they have the xeon bulb which is a much whiter white. People will think Donnie has a Lexus at night. Maybe not. It is going to be a tight fit to get the one piece front end off.

One thing that I found out, was never touch the light tabs right after they have been welded. I share that information with you for free. I poured some water on the tabs and mounted the driving light up.

Now that's a cool look, I just need to paint the bumper black and the light put back on.

That did not take very long. Putting the one piece front end back on was a very tight fit but it did fit.

It is really starting to look like a Baja Bug know. Donnie is now 14 years old and still has a while before he can drive it. Steve shared with me that for Donnie's safety, I should first let him take the car out so they can try and break it. Next we will finish the one piece front end. I want to shave the front fenders, put in the gas filler and mount it to the body on the sides.
